Intimacy is very
important in any relationship. When there is intimacy, the love between couples
can increase, so also their caring for each other. If the passion has died down
in your relationship, or at least faded a little, then you should seriously consider
rekindling it to some extent.
No matter how long
you have been married, you should always try to renew the fire and passion as
well as the intimacy in your relationship. Some of the ways you can increase
intimacy is to treat your husband or wife as your girlfriend or boyfriend for a
short while. Imagine you are not married and are just dating.
If you have been
married for a long time, there is a strong chance that both of you haven't gone
on a date in a long time. Is it not? In such a case, why not fix a date. In
most marriages, both couples reach a zone which can be referred to as 'comfort
zone'. However, this is not ideal as it can diminish the romance and intimacy
between couples. When people are in this zone, then the relationship feels more
like friendship instead of marriage relationship. To prevent this from
happening, ask your spouse out on a date. Spend some time together, away from
kids and other household responsibilities.
Being affectionate
and kind is another great way to increase intimacy between couples. Words alone
won't have much effect unless they are followed by actions. For example,
imagine how effective it would be if you can back up your loving words with
actions like hugging, kissing and holding hands. These actions would not always
lead to sex. If its just sex on the mind of couples all the times, the romance
may soon die down and this could later on lead to less sex.
Another thing which
couples should keep in mind is to be able to talk openly and freely about their
feelings and thoughts. Being able to share what you think and feel, can be an
important part of a satisfying relationship. At times, husband and wife should
be like best friends. You should be thoughtful and considerate of each other.
